Visitors to the very first Raby Castle Plant, Food and Craft Fair
on Sunday 8 the June, 11am – 4.30pm will be spoilt for choice, with
some great displays of plants, crafts and tasty treats.
Over 35 traders will be in attendance at the Fair representing
a wide range of locally produced plants, food and crafts. Plant
nurseries, include Red Dial Nurseries, Low Field Gardens , Beech
Grove Plants, Potting Shed and Hawthorn Cottage Nurseries, amongst
others selling a range of garden plants, shrubs, herbs, perennials
and garden ornaments. Hunter House Farm Cheese, Loopy Lisa's Fudge,
Xocolatyl chocolate, Well Oiled olive oils, Pickled Pink Preserves
and a hog spit roast are just some of the tasty treats available.
Craft stalls complete the line up and include local company, Dalestone
Crafts who craft models from local stone in the style of dry stone
walls, TOC Aromatherapy, Roseberry Walking Sticks and stalls selling
handmade jewellery and bags amongst other delights. For a full list

In addition to the array of stalls, children will be able to enjoy
activities including a summer treasure trail through the Walled
Gardens . Following on from Raby's successful Easter treasure trail
and children's activities, Darlington based party specialists, Wildchilds
will be running a craft workshop along with garden games on the
East Lawn, including a bubble workshop, both in addition to the
treasure trail and included in the £2.50 child admission price.
Katie Blundell, Raby Castle 's marketing and events supervisor,
says “this is the first time we have organised such an event at
Raby and we are really looking forward to it. We have an excellent
line up of local exhibitors and the children's activities mean this
really will be a day out for all the family to enjoy. All we need
now is for the sun to shine!”
