Christmas in the Coach Yard

Raby Castle’s Coach Yard will be filled with festive charm along with the welcoming scent of mulled wine. Enjoy the festive ambience and browse our unique selection of gifts and crafts in the Shops, warm up with some seasonal food and drink in the Tearooms, complete the Elf and Fairy Trail in the Enchanted Festive Forest located indoors in the Riding School and don’t forget to buy your Christmas Tree.

Enchanted Festive Forest

Catering for our younger visitors, the Riding School will this year play host to the Enchanted Festive Forest. Made up of over 100 Christmas Trees which are all lit up and interspersed with winter scenes, visitors will also be able to follow the Elf and Fairy Trail provided by Bright Woods Forest School CIC:

In the deep, glistening Christmas Forest the fairies and elves are getting ready for winter.
Some are sleeping, some are cold, some are girls and some are boys.
Some show signs that Autumn’s passed, some bring the promise of what is to come.
If you’d like to meet them, step into the Enchanted Festive Forest and follow the winding path on a magical adventure.
Greet them gently, make a wish, say goodbye and blow a kiss.

The Fairies and Elves love puzzles. Each of them hides a letter and a number. Match them to discover what word they spell out.

Complete the Trail to receive a special prize and collect a Craft pack which can be completed there (benches and crayons etc. will be provided), or take it home with you.

Open daily from 10am to 5pm. Tickets are available on arrival in the Riding School from the trailer and are priced at £4.50 per child, adults and under ones go free (but will not receive the Trail sheet or Craft pack). No advance booking required. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please dress warmly. Seasonal beverages and snacks for all ages will be available.

Christmas Food and Gift Market

December 8th and 9th from 10am to 4pm

For unique gift ideas and inspiration head to Raby Castle’s Christmas Food and Gift Market which will be packed with seasonal produce and presents for all the family. This is a perfect opportunity to buy stocking fillers, delicious food and drink for your festive guests and to source unusual gifts for friends and family.

Some of Father Christmas' reindeer will be making a special visit to Raby for the two days during the Market, and Elvis (the cheeky) Shetland pony will be helping deliver Christmas trees to your car!
