A Superb Collection

Raby State Coach, used for the coronation of King Edward VII in 1902The Coach House now houses 18th and 19th century coaches and carriages.

You can see 18th century travelling chariots, bearing the arms of the Earl of Darlington, the Raby State Coach, built in the early 19th century for the Duke of Cleveland, and hand operated horse drawnfire engines.

 

 

The Tack Room

Tack Room, displaying harnesses and trappingsIn the Tack Room are displayed the harness and other trappings for the coach horses, also with an exotic Arab saddle cloth and harness on display.

Livery worn by the Coachman in the Edwardian period may also be seen.
