Facilities & Access

Catering:

  • Table leg detailThe licensed  Stable Tearooms  which incorporate the stalls of the 18th century stables, provides a tranquil and comfortable setting for light lunches, afternoon tea and snacks.

  • Reservations and orders can be booked in advance for groups.

Disabled Access:

  • Wheelchair access, with assistance is limited to the some of the Castle's ground floor due to its mediaeval structure.
  • Victorian kitchen copper utensilsThe Gardens are accessible but gravel paths may pose difficulties for unaccompanied wheelchair users. Strong companions are advisable
  • The Coach and Carriage Collection, Tearoom and Gift Shop are accessible to wheelchairs.
  • Adapted toilets are available.
  • Three wheelchairs are available at Raby. These are on a first come first served basis.

    Note:- Elderly or infirm visitors may find access to the upstairs difficult.
    A flight of stairs, with nearly 40 steps leads to the Baron's Hall

For Babies:

  • ClockBaby changing facilities are available in both male and female toilets.

Access for Dogs:

  • Dogs are not allowed in the Castle and Gardens except guide/assistance dogs.
  • Dogs are allowed in the Park on leads only.

Other:

  • Photography and video filming not permitted inside castle.
