Free flow visits are available during normal openings hours. Please be advised guided tours will be in operation Monday to Wednesday during the months of May, June and September.

*Under 12s admitted free of charge to the Park and Gardens when accompanied by a paying adult. Full child fee applies if children visit the Castle.

  • Private Guided TourGroups are able to wander around at their own leisure, finding knowledgeable and friendly guides along with information cards in each room. Please be advised this applies only to days that are not designated for guided tours. On guided tour days the same price as stated above will apply, however visitors are not able to walk around the castle at their own leisure, they will be part of a guided tour group.
  • Where ever possible please book in advance to minimise delays.

VIP Private Guided Tours:
(Booking is essential. Minimum group size of 20)

£15.00 per person (includes reception coffee & biscuits and complimentary guidebook)
Available weekday mornings from Easter until the end of September.

  • These exclusive tours begin in the Entrance Hall with a reception of tea / coffee and biscuits, giving time for visitors to soak up the atmosphere.
  • Experienced Guides will then reveal the history and intrigue of Raby on a private guided tour.
  • Each tour is tailored to the individual needs and interests of the group and takes approximately 1½ to 2 hours.
  • Complimentary Guidebook for each visitor.

Standard Tour by Appointment:
(Booking is essential. Minimum group size of 20)

Available weekdays 10am to 12.30 pm (2.30pm when the Castle is closed to the public) from Easter until the end of September.

  • Throughout the season standard tours of the castle can be booked.
  • The tour takes approximately 1½ hours.

Planning Your Group Visit:

  • The Nevill GatewayThe average visit to Raby Castle, Park and Gardens takes around 3½ hours. We would suggest that the minimum time allocated should be 2 hours.

Coaches:

  • Coach parking is free and there is ample space for maneuvering.
  • Passengers can be dropped of outside the Portcullis of the Castle, if required.
       (Please note that the main toilets are not at the Castle.
       They are positioned near the Tearooms)
  • Drivers are entitled to free admission and a free meal voucher.

Educational Visits: (minimum group size 20)

£3.50 per primary / junior school pupil
£4.00 per secondary school pupil

  • Lamp & tableWith historic artefacts from the Middle Ages through to the Victorian Era, Raby Castle is ideal for a school visit.
  • Experienced Guides adapt the fascinating and motivational tours to the age of the pupil or student and may involve a degree of storytelling.
  • After the guided tour there is so much more to see and experience, such as the Horse-drawn Coach and Carriage Collection, the Deer Park and Gardens.
  • There is also a Woodland Adventure Playground near the Picnic Area.
  • Raby has the facility of a Lunch Room, which can act as a base.
  • Coats and bags may be left and it is ideal for an indoor picnic.
  • Goody bags can be especially made choosing items from the shop for any budget.
  • All school visits must be pre-booked.
