Visiting the Castle - Raby Castle
We welcome visitors to view Raby Castle and it’s collections by guided tour on weekdays during April, May, June and September.
If you prefer not to take part in a guided tour, we suggest you visit on either a Sunday or during school holidays, when we operate a free flow system.
Throughout April, May, June and September, admission to the Castle is by guided tours on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays the Castle is closed Thursday to Saturday.
Our knowledgeable and friendly Guides will take you on a tour of the Castle to discover its fascinating history and beautiful interiors.
Guided tours take place every half an hour throughout the afternoon and last for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. There is no need to book in advance, our admissions staff will inform you when the next available tour is when you arrive.
Please note the last tour of the day will be at 3.20pm, after which there will be no further admissions to the castle.
Free Flow Days
If you prefer to stroll around and take in the castle at your own pace, we suggest you visit on Sundays, bank holidays and during school holidays, when we operate free flow in the Castle.
During free-flow days, our knowledgeable guides will be in each room of the house to offer you guidance should you need it, feel free to ask them anything you desire to know! There are also informative room notes to help you in every room. Should you wish to know more, an illustrated guide book is also available to purchase.
There will be no guided tours in operation during free-flow.
Well behaved dogs are welcome in the Deer Park on leads only. Please note dogs are not allowed in the Castle and Gardens except assistance dogs.
