Fireside Stories with Father Christmas

Visit the box office for availability - tickets released are for 4:30pm on the 12th, 13th, 14th and 19th December.  Thes are the final tickets, there will be no more available after these are sold.

Original ticket sales - 1st & 2nd, 8th & 9th, 15th & 16th, 22nd & 23rd December. 11am, 12pm, 2pm, 3pm

Father Christmas will be returning to his fireside chair in the Castle’s Grand Entrance Hall to entertain children with his fun stories and songs.

Gather round the fire for a magical experience and soak up the festive atmosphere in this remarkable setting, which will be beautifully decorated for Christmas.

Father Christmas is looking forward to meeting everyone and he will have a special personalised present for each child.

Tickets for this Father Christmas experience include: a visit to see Father Christmas in Raby Castle’s Grand Entrance Hall, an invitation from Father Christmas and a personalised gift, plus entrance for up to two accompanying adults. Each session will last approximately 45 minutes and will be limited to 30 children to make the experience extra special.

Ticket prices: Child (includes 1 adult): £20.00, Child (includes 2 adults): £22.50

High Tea with Father Christmas

Raby Castle

1st & 2nd, 15th & 16th & 20th – 23rd December, 4.00pm

Children can enjoy a delicious afternoon tea of sandwiches accompanied by a selection of Mrs Claus’ homemade treats including gingerbread muffins, chocolate brownies and candyfloss ice cream.

After High Tea, take a winter stroll to the Castle where Father Christmas will be waiting in the Grand Entrance Hall beside the roaring fire and impressive Raby Christmas tree. Children will be captivated by his stories and will enjoy singing along to his favourite songs before being presented with a special personalised gift. For a cosy, friendly atmosphere spaces are limited to 30 children per session.

Ticket price per child: £30

High Tea is included for children only, refreshments will be available for adults to purchase on the day.

Breakfast with Father Christmas

Enjoy a delicious breakfast of warm fluffy pancakes and a selection of tasty toppings for children to choose themselves, served with a hot chocolate or a fresh apple or orange juice.

After breakfast, take a winter walk to the Castle where Father Christmas will be waiting in the beautifully decorated Grand Entrance Hall. Gather round the fire to listen to his stories and sing along with him before he hands out a personalised gift to each child. This will be an exclusive experience with spaces for just 30 children per session.

Christmas Trees

Raby Castle

Throughout December (1st to 23rd) Christmas trees, grown locally on the Raby Estate, will be on sale along with a selection of handmade wreaths and decorative foliage. Pick your own tree from an impressive selection of Nordman Fir and Norway Spruce available in the Coach Yard. 

This year Elvis (the cheeky!) Shetland pony will be on hand helping deliver Christmas trees to your car!


Festive Afternoon Tea in Raby Castle

New for this year - bring friends or your office team or department to enjoy an indulgent festive afternoon tea in Raby Castle’s Grand Entrance Hall which will be beautifully decorated for the festive season with a roaring fire and huge Christmas trees.

You will be served a delicious selection of cakes; rich chocolate petits fours, spiced carrot cake, star topped mince pies and Sicilian lemon tart, festive spiced fruit scones with clotted cream, cheese and thyme scones, Christmas finger sandwiches; turkey and cranberry, Wensleydale cheese and Christmas chutney and Scottish smoked salmon with cream cheese all served with freshly brewed tea in this truly magnificent setting. And of course, it wouldn’t be festive without a Christmas Cracker! 

Why not add some fizz to your afternoon tea - available by separate arrangement.

Once you have enjoyed your afternoon tea, there will be an opportunity to glimpse into rooms decorated as they would have been in days gone by ready for family and friends to gather for Christmas.

The Grand Entrance Hall will be set out with tables for 10 during these special events providing a perfect opportunity to join together with family, friends and colleagues for a unique festive celebration. Bookings for less than 10 people will be on shared tables.

£25 per person.

Selected dates through December – There are three dates currently available to book; Friday 7th December, Thursday 13th December and Thursday 20th December.  Other dates will be opened as required.
