Raby Castle will be the backdrop for two exciting outdoor theatre productions this summer.
HandleBards is the world’s first cycling theatre company and they will present two classic Shakespeare plays in a unique and family friendly way.
On Saturday 4th August Raby Castle will host a production of the famous love story Romeo and Juliet which will be full of energy, fun and entertainment value.
As anyone who has taken advantage of our bike hire here at Raby Castle will know, the grounds are perfect for cycling but this show will take that to a new level, incorporating drama, chaos, costumes and props in a way that is designed to delight young and old.
On Friday 10th August HandleBards will be back to perform Twelfth Night. Their twist on the classic comedy about twins Viola and Sebastian who are separated after a shipwreck will appeal to all ages and is an ideal family event.
Both shows start at 6.30pm and finish at 8.30pm. They will be performed in the open air so please dress for the weather and bring a picnic chair, rug or cushions. Hot and cold food, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages will be on sale and visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic to enjoy.
