Bike hire is now available to visitors so that they can explore our 200 acres of spectacular parkland on two wheels.
The huge expanse of open space offers an idyllic cycling environment and a chance to glimpse the castle from different angles.
Riders can look out for red deer, fallow deer and plenty of other wildlife. Please respect the privacy of the animals when you ride around the park, particularly between May and July when the deer are calving. Young baby deer should never be approached as human scent can deter the adult deer from returning to feed the calves. Admire these majestic animals from a safe distance and respect their privacy at all times.
The views across the lakes, surrounding countryside and back towards the Walled Gardens can be breathtaking, especially on a clear day, and there are plenty of peaceful spots to stop and relax.
Cyclists will be provided with a map of the grounds with suggestions of trails to follow so that they can make the most of their ride.
Bike hire is available to visitors who have purchased a ticket for access to the Park and Grounds. Bikes cost £7 for adults and £5 for children. Family tickets are available at £20 for 2 adults and 2 children and £24 for 2 adults and 3 children. Helmets can be hired for 50p. To find out more about bike hire please ask at the ticket kiosk.
