This Sunday marks the opening of our popular festive season, with the Taste of Teesdale Christmas market taking place between 10am and 4pm. There’ll also be freshly cut real Christmas trees on sale and the famous Raby Christmas Shop and Tearooms will also be open daily until 22nd December between 10am and 5pm in the grounds of the Castle.
The Taste of Teesdale Christmas Market, which is organised by Barnard Castle Farmers Market, will feature around 30 stalls offering the very best food & drink ideas from around the region. Fresh Raby venison will be available on the market, there’s the chance to win a luxury Christmas hamper in the prize draw, and local folk band, Gegenforde, will be providing entertainment, admission and parking will be free of charge.
As well as this there will be two additional mini-markets taking place on the following Sundays, the 7th and 14th December, featuring a smaller, hand-picked selection of local food and drink, including fresh venison and game, handmade preserves, locally produced fudge and artisan breads plus more.
Rachel Milner our Events Manager had this to say: “The Christmas Producers Markets are a really great addition to what we already offer in the lead up to Christmas, it means we really are a one-stop shop for everything you need, from the tree, to the decorations to the food.”
Raby Castle Christmas Trees, with the Christmas Shop and Tearooms are open daily between 10am and 5pm from 30th November until 22nd December. Raby Castle will remain closed for the winter season, therefore entry and parking in the grounds is free of charge during the Christmas opening.
