Raby Castle, Park & Gardens has been awarded a Gold Accolade in the first round of 2015 VisitEngland Accolades in recognition of the quality visitor experience on offer.
Assessing everything from customer service to catering and the facilities, the accolades aim to recognise those attractions going the extra mile to create an enjoyable and memorable visitor experience. Introduced by VisitEngland in 2014, the accolades are available to attractions that are part of the Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme and are allocated through a scoring system based on an annual assessment by VisitEngland. They include the Welcome accolade, Hidden Gem, Best Told Story, Quality Food & Drink and the Gold accolade for top-scoring attractions. Two rounds of accolades are announced each year, with 17 attractions across the country receiving accolades as part of this first round.
Rachel, who works in the Castle Office as Marketing and Events Supervisor said: “We are absolutely over the moon to have been awarded this Gold Accolade, it is the second time we have received it, being one of the first to be awarded it when the Accolades were launched last year. What makes it even more special is that we are only one of 4 attractions to receive a Gold Accolade in this round.”
“We are assessed and scored by an assessor from Visit England’s Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme on an annual basis, so it’s really good to know that the high standards we aim for are being upheld, it really is down to the hard work and dedication of all of our staff, it’s them who make our visitors feel welcome and provide that memorable visitor experience. To receive the Gold Accolade for 2 years running is just amazing and a real achievement”
