On Sunday 13th September 2015, Raby Castle, Park & Gardens will be open as part of Heritage Open Days, a national scheme which aims to either, open up historic places usually closed to the public or, allow access for free. Therefore there will be no admission charges for visitors to Raby Castle on Sunday.
The Raby Deer Park, Walled Gardens, Gift Shop and Tearooms will be open as usual between 11am and 5pm. We do expect a high volume of visitors and therefore have decided to open the Castle slightly earlier than normal, at 12.30pm instead of 1pm.
Due to some space restrictions in some of the rooms inside the Castle itself, and to ensure the safety of our visitors, we will need to restrict the number of visitors going into the Castle at any one time, and will be letting people in in batches. This may result in some queuing to get inside the Castle itself. We therefore advise visitors not to rush up to the Castle at 12.30pm, perhaps enjoy the gardens and leave your visit to the Castle until a little bit later in the day, last admission will be at 4pm, so there is plenty of time in the afternoon to visit.
For advice and guidance on the day, look for the information point in the gazebo near the car park, where friendly staff will be on hand to help you make the most of your visit.
We look forward to welcoming you to Raby for Heritage Open Days!
