Raby Estates is looking to recruit a Visitor Services Manager who will be responsible for the operational management of both Raby Castle and High Force Waterfall.
Raby Castle near Staindrop has been the home of the Vane family for generations and is open to visitors. Lord and Lady Barnard seek to develop the Castle and grounds so that it becomes one of the foremost visitor attractions in the North.
High Force in Upper Teesdale attracts approximately 100,000 visitors per annum and has potential to be developed further.

Raby Castle has been chosen by the UK’s leading holiday rentals site HolidayLettings.co.uk (owned by TripAdvisor) as one of the final 12 competitors in the running to be named the UK’s Most Popular Castle. To win the award, the Castle will need to receive the most votes on the Holiday Letting’s website. Voting ends on 20th June (mid-night), with the Castle receiving the most votes crowned “The UK’s Most Popular Castle 2017” on the 21st June.

Easter Saturday marks the beginning of the open season for Raby Castle, Park & Gardens, which will now be open from Wednesday to Sunday each week until the end of September. This is the first time the Castle and grounds have been open on Saturdays.
As well as this, during the peak summer season in July and August, the Castle, Park & gardens will be open each Tuesday and bank holidays as well – giving you even more opportunities to visit!

Lord Barnard is delighted to announce that Duncan Peake will take up the role of Chief Executive of the Raby Estate starting in June 2017. Mr Peake, 57, will join Raby having spent nearly 10 years managing the Holker Group of Companies on behalf of Lord and Lady Cavendish of the Holker Estate in Cumbria.

During Spring 2016 Raby Castle was transformed into a film set for the new and upcoming series of Victoria, premiering on Sunday 28th August on ITV.
Victoria, a British drama, follows the early life of Queen Victoria, from her accession to the throne at the age of 18 through to her courtship and marriage to Prince Albert. County Durham Federation of Young Farmers Clubs are again organising a pleasure ride to help them raise funds for their organisation.
There will be the option to complete either a 5 mile or 10 mile ride which is off-road on private land, in a virtually traffic free area of fantastic scenery.
Parking for horseboxes is within the grounds of Raby Castle, please enter through the main gates and follow signs for Horsebox Parking. Riders can pay and enter on the day and can set off between 10am and 12pm. Riders are asked not to arrive any earlier than 9.30am.
