Our refurbished Tearooms will be open from 9am every day from Saturday 24th March and regular visitors will notice that it isn’t just the décor that’s changed.
Tickets are no longer required to access the Tearooms and Gift Shop and we hope this will make it much easier for people to visit regularly.
The Tearooms is a cosy place to meet friends for coffee and this year we will also be serving a selection of brunch dishes including avocado on toast and locally sourced eggs, bacon and sausages.

We always look forward to opening the gates for a new season at Raby Castle, but this year is going to be extra special.
Over the winter, we have been making some changes to the castle and grounds which we hope will make it an even better place to visit in 2018.
Our focus has been on delivering the best possible experience for all our visitors, whether they’re here for a full day out or just calling in for a coffee with friends.

Now in their seventh year, the BBC Countryfile Magazine Awards 2018 are a celebration of the British countryside and its people, from mighty landmarks and outstanding national parks to the best nature reserves and finest rural pubs.
This year, readers of Countryfile Magazine were invited to send in their suggestions for the greatest sites in the countryside.
An expert panel then gathered to review all of the submissions, and whittle the nominees down to five in each category.

A group of walkers from Raby Estates in County Durham and Holker Estate in Cumbria, have raised a total of £7000 for the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR).
The combined team of 17 staff, friends and canines from the Raby and Holker Estates joined forces on the 3rd November, as part of the ICR's Climb of Life Appeal, which has celebrated 30 years of fundraising this year by attempting to climb 30 peaks.

A member of the Raby castle staff team is hoping to complete a European rally in a hearse to boost funds for a life saving charity.
Alan McKerchar, custodian at Raby Castle, in Staindrop, Teesdale, will be teaming up with his son Ross, 22, to take part in the Fireball Rally next month. The pair will be driving their 1995 Ford Scorpio hearse from the castle through eight European countries over four days in a bid to raise funds for the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).
