This Sunday marks the opening of our popular festive season, with the Taste of Teesdale Christmas market taking place between 10am and 4pm. There’ll also be freshly cut real Christmas trees on sale and the famous Raby Christmas Shop and Tearooms will also be open daily until 22nd December between 10am and 5pm in the grounds of the Castle. Tickets for our popular Santa’s Grotto have gone on sale online. Santa will be in his woodland grotto here in the grounds of the Castle from 30th November until 22nd December 2014. The grotto will open on Sunday 30th November, along with Raby’s renowned Christmas Shop, Tearooms and freshly cut Christmas Tree sales, and we’ll also be welcoming the Taste of Teesdale producers market for the first day of our Christmas season. The Park and Gardens at Raby will be free for all visitors for one day only as we take part in Heritage Open Days on Sunday 14th September. Heritage Open Days is a three-day, National Scheme which aims to either open up historic places usually closed to the public or allow access for free.
